Wood engraving,
An original wood engraving depicting a driver's-eye view of the southbound approach to Piccadilly Circus station on the London Underground Bakerloo line. A lone figure is just discernible, silhouetted on a platform bench.
The title of this piece raises questions: what is being contemplated, and by whom? Up close, the waiting passenger may be deep in thought, but take a step back and this whole, unusual scene can start to look like the internal workings of a head in profile.
This piece was exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2013, the Royal West of England annual open 2014, and the 76th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Wood Engravers
